In order to limit the time at my pity part, I’ll make this post short and sweet. I’ve revving up for the Canyonlands Half Marathon in Moab for past few months. Unfortunately, my busy schedule has severely limited my training regimen and the sub-1:40:00 I was initially shooting for. I toed the line on Saturday morning with a 1:45:00 in mind, and when the gun went off, so did I – way…too…fast.
I clocked 7:20’s for the first 3 miles until I realized how stupid I was being. I wasn’t ready for this; I couldn’t sustain that pace for another 10 miles; I was gearing up for a huge bonk, and bonk I did. Mile 7.5 was like a brick wall. BOOM.
I’ll leave the rest up to your imagination. We hit up Arches National Park the next day for some desert fun.
Next up: Brain Booster 5K on March 30th.
