Holy crap. February’s already over. Am I the only one that thinks this month flew by? I’m not complaining though – I’m welcoming March with open arms, not only because my training really sucked in February, but also because March 1st marks the date in which my incredibly handsome nephew was brought into this world! More to come on that.
I’m following a training schedule that changes monthly. February introduced block training sessions (such as bike/run, run/swim, etc), and while I’m a HUGE fan of these types of workouts, I just had a hard time getting into a rhythm.
I had two highlights in February I’d like to point out: a killer swim session (thanks underwater MP3 player!) and an incredible 8-mile run towards the end of the month: one of those runs where you go out with a goal of pushing yourself but staying aerobic and when your watch beeps for mile one you look down and stare in awe at your mile pace. You think it’s a fluke until the second mile goes by and it’s even faster. Yep, that was my mind-blowing run on Friday morning!
That’s all I can really say about training this month. Next month is more block workouts, and I’m hoping the weather improves so I can take Big Blue out on the pavement. I’m not feeling too talkative, so here’s what the rest of February looked like in pictures:

Work trip in Vail for a few days and I had a realization of how my shoes represent my life: work, play, run.
And the highlight of February (even though it happened March 1st) was getting to finally meet my nephew: Jackson Ryder Hodges! Molly called Pete and I Friday night while we were at Euclid Hall for Restaurant Week (it was delicious!) and said she was heading to the hospital and Mr. J was coming. Saturday morning he had arrived! I’m already in love with this little man!
